Works daily as a food service worker and preps food for Lunch Service. Follows Chartwells recipes.

The General Kitchen/Cashier has the overall responsibility of assisting with the preparation and serving of meal components for the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs at either an elementary or secondary school. Additional responsibilities include accurately counting and claiming students by classification (i.e.: free, reduced-price, or full-paid) at the point of service and collecting money for meals and ala carte items served. Examples of job responsibilities may include preparing various meal components for service, setting up meal components and ala carte items, serving various meal components, ringing in meals on POS system, collecting money and making change for meals served, performing a variety of cleaning duties, completing production records, and establishing and maintaining high standards in the areas of cleanliness, food quality, and customer service. Operates cash register/point of sale device during serving periods as needed.

Communicates and coordinates daily with Food Service Director on strategies to accomplish production and maintain quality standards.

Collects, records, and reports quantities used, amounts produced, amounts left over and meal counts accurately in compliance with District and government regulations.

Offers and serves correct portions to comply with District and National School Breakfast and Lunch Program standards.

Cleans and restocks work area throughout the day. Maintains standards for sanitation and cleanliness by following standards for "clean as you go" and scheduled routine cleaning. Cleaning duties may include, but are not limited to: equipment, utensils, serving area, dining area, floors, walls, baseboards, and storage areas.

Assists in proper labeling, dating, and rotation of product in dry storage, coolers and freezers.

Assists in maintaining organized storage of dry goods, refrigerated and frozen products.

Assists Food Service Director in accurate counting of food and supplies for inventories.

Attends training and development classes and work site meetings as required by the Food Service Director, the Director of Nutrition Services, and the District Administrators.

Wears the prescribed uniform. Maintains a professional appearance at all times. Maintain c
lean and safe work environment; ability to perform job safely.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

May perform any task given by site manager.

Candidates must possess a valid Indiana Teaching License, Special Education/Exceptional Needs, Intense Intervention. 

  Special Requirements:

To provide quality early childhood education to developmental preschool students from Montgomery County who qualify for special education services.

Preference will be given to candidates that have experience/training in developmental early childhood education and intense intervention, completing new student in-take evaluations to determine eligibility, and Family Literacy.
