• Swimming Ends Successful Season

    By Abby Maurer

The Crawfordsville Swimming & Diving teams are quickly swimming their way to the end of this season! Despite our recent chilling weather, the swimmers and divers on the boys and girls varsity teams have been spending plenty of time in the chilly water of our pool, practicing every day after school, when practices aren’t canceled because of snowfall, of course, to get ready to dominate their sectional meets, which started on February 6th. They have a state meet on Valentine's Day at 6 pm, so instead of spending time with their friends or special someone, they’ll be swimming at the Indianapolis Natatorium. The next two sectionals meets, on the 20th and 22nd, will be home meets, so feel free to head out to those help support our swimmers and divers on the varsity teams on their last home meets of this season! If you’re planning on attending those meets, the one on the 20th will be held at 6 pm, and the one on the 22nd will be held at 1pm. After that, on the 28th, the athletes will be heading back to the Indianapolis Natatorium to have their final state meet, which is also their final meet of the 2020 year! If you’re planning on going out and supporting your friends on the teams, the meet will be starting at 6 pm. Our swimmers and divers are very excited, but still understandably nervous, to wrap up this year's season with their state meets, so be sure to show them your support!

  • Boy's Basketball Brings Home Victories

    By Abby Maurer

With the winter sports season slowly coming to an end, the boy’s varsity basketball team has been working hard to try and dominate in the last competitions before sectionals. Their next meet is an away game on Valentine’s day against Tri-West, so instead of going out on any romantic dates, they’ll be grinding on the court. Their next meet after that will be a home game against Central Catholic on February 18th, following with another home game on the 21st against Danville. All of the three meets will be at seven-thirty, so if you want to come to one of the home games, feel free to show up and support our boys! The meet on the 21st will be their last home meet before sectionals, so they could definitely use some extra hype at home! A week after that meet, on the 28th, they’ll be heading away to Covington to play their last game before sectionals, which starts in early March and consists of three games, all of which will be at Greencastle. The meet will be on March 3rd, 6th, and 7th, so that week’s bound to be a very busy one for the varsity boys. With a little less than a month less to practice and compete before the season is up, be sure to support the basketball teams by attending home games and encouraging them before sectionals!
