Think you might have DETENTION? Well, there is one way to find out for sure; check the list on the Main Office Window. That will take the guess work right out of it. Remember - excuses like "I didnt know I had detention" are not going to get you out of it. Check the list, check it often. It's not worth the problems it's going to cause if you don't show up. Do the right thing.. check the list!
Current 6th and 7th grade students will begin the scheduling process for the 2019-2020 school year with their Advisory teacher on Monday. We have a couple of different opportunities and/or classes that require you to apply or audition. You will find more information and the application form in the office for the following opportunities:
Student Assistant- Student assistants serve in roles such as an Officer Helper, Adaptive PE helper etc. Applications are available in the office and are due by April 5th to Mrs. Brooks.
Student Leadership Team – Our Student Leadership Team is a group of students that work in leadership capacity at CMS. They run 6th grade orientation, assist each fall with our Open House, and run Athenian Central. Applications are available in the office and are due by April 5th to Mrs. Brooks.
Journalism- Journalism is a class of 7th-8th grade students that create our yearbook. Applications are available in the office and are due by April 5th to Mrs. Brooks.
Advanced Show Choir- Students interested in auditioning for Advanced Show Choir can pick up information in the main office. Auditions will be in April- To Be Announced
ALL track members will ride the bus to CHS for track practice starting this Monday the 18th. Parents MUST pick up students at CHS at 5:15. Everyone needs to change into practice clothes immediately after the bell rings before getting on the bus. The bus will pick us at 4:00.
8th graders: Would you like to take Summer PE this summer? If so, starting on April 8th, you will be able to pick up sign-up forms and a calendar in the office. All forms and checks are to be turned in to Mr. Dieruf, at the high school by May 10th.
The lost and found is getting really full- it will be emptied before we leave for spring break next Friday the 22nd.
Random Acts of Kindness cards will be available starting Monday, the 18th through next Thursday at lunch! Each card will cost $0.25.
You can send someone a special message, thank you, or just to tell them to have a great day. All cards will be delivered Friday March 22 right before Spring Break
The Yearbook deadline is March 22 and the cost is $32.

Our lost & found is getting very full. If your child is missing any items, please encourage them to check the lost & found located just outside the cafeteria. We want to be sure we can reunite students with their lost items. If possible, please label all items with your student's name.

Meal Plan..."Send Money to School"...Use this to setup an online lunch account for your child so that you may make payments, checkbalances, view history and transfer money.
Volunteer Approval..."SafeVisitor"...Use this to have a background check. You need to have a background every year in order to come to the school, help with class activities or eat lunch, etc. You cannot go any farther than the office if you do not have a background.

Second Semester Dates
- Clothing should cover the student while in a seated position and/or when raising arms.
- Clothing should cover undergarments and the midriff at all times.
- Shirts/dresses with large armholes and spaghetti straps are not permitted.
- Shoes should allow the student to walk, climb, and play safely.
- Flip flops are not permitted. Shoes must have a closed toe.
If you are only able to communicate by text, Hose now has a number that you may text to communicate with the office. The number is 765-761-4562.
You are welcome to set up a time to come and have lunch with your child. You must have a current background check on file. (Go to the parent tab and fill out the volunteer form online). You must call the office 24 hours in advance and we will check with the kitchen and your student's teacher to make sure accomodations can be made. The number for the office is 765-362-2886.
