Weekly assignments and posted homework is pre-planned and may change according to class progress. Remind (You choose how to communicate: text, app, email)
This year I'll be using a program called Remind to communicate with parents and students. Find out more about it here. It's a way for me to communicate via app, text message, and/or email with students and parents in whatever way best suits their communication preferences. I'll send out reminders about upcoming quizzes, important due dates, and other things related to the classroom. In addition, parents and students can communicate with me using the same method(s) of their choosing. The instructions to sign up are grade-specific. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The main homework that you should expect for your 7th grade student is that I would like to see your child read, read, and then read a little more. If a student will read at least 20 minutes per night, it will help with comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. As in sixth grade, students will be expected to fill reading logs wherein they document having read for no fewer than 100 minutes per week.
