Nicholson gets creative at Cookies & Canvas Night

More than 100 participants enjoyed the first “Cookies and Canvas” event, which was hosted by the Nicholson Student Council. Nicholson art teacher, Mrs. Garvin led students and parents in the step-by-step painting process of dandelions blowing in the wind.

Each participant received a cookie and the opportunity to purchase additional refreshments and of course everyone was able to take their finished artwork home.

Student Council co-sponsor Marlowe McVay said, “It was a joy to see all of the families painting, smiling, and enjoying their time together. We had a wonderful time hosting everybody and are very excited about the future of the event.”

Megan McCutchan, Nicholson’s other council co-sponsor, echoed that sentiment, “It was great to see parents and their children of all ages enjoying themselves. The finished pieces of artwork were wonderful!”

Creativity flows as painters work on their canvas.
