Dear Families,

Welcome to Hose Elementary. We are looking forward to the beginning of the new school year. This is an exciting time for you and your student! For many, it is the first time to come to school. Our goal is to provide a caring, warm atmosphere where learning is child centered.

Positive school habits are formed early. Attendance is critical in Kindergarten and First Grade. We focus on the basic building blocks of education. Many activities are hands-on and can not be sent home to make up. Much learning occurs in small groups with peers. Our classroom is a community. In our community, we have rules to help us get along with each other. Teachers will practice the rules many times in the first few weeks with students.  Please help the teachers by reinforcing at home what is taught in our classrooms.

Our goal is to prepare students academically for first grade and second grade as outlined by state standards. The exceptional staff at Hose Elementary will do everything possible to ensure that your child gets off to a great start in school. Communication is key to help your child. I urge you to take an active role in your child’s education. Some suggestions would be to read with your child daily and practice full name, phone number, and address. Please talk with your child and check their book bags daily. Our voicemail system is available 24/7. Email and text messages are also available forms of communication.
